JUBA, South Sudan (Eye Radio) — The Minister of General Education and Instruction, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, officially released the 2025 Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) results on Thursday, issuing an apology for the one-month delay in the original schedule. The announcement followed a direct order from President Salva Kiir last week, instructing the Ministry to expedite the release of the results to allow students to transition into secondary education. A total of 84,506 pupils sat for the examinations in November 2024. The cohort comprised 45,427 boys and 39,079 girls. According to the Ministry’s data, the vast majority of candidates were successful, with a national pass rate of 96.4 percent. Addressing candidates and parents at an event in Juba, Dr. Kuyok expressed regret over the missed deadline. He had previously promised that the results would be ready by the start of the school term on February 2. “I would like to profoundly apologize to the candidates and the families for the delay... I promised that the results would not be delayed, and we are now one month behind schedule. We are establishing a system, which appears to be hard; nevertheless, I undertake that we will put this right.” The delay had caused anxiety among families, as the academic year for secondary schools had already commenced. Dr. Kuyok attributed the lag to the challenges of establishing a new, more robust grading and processing system but committed to ensuring such delays do not recur in future examination cycles. The Ministry is expected to provide a detailed breakdown of the top-performing students and states later on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
