The Governor of Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, Sharif Daniel Sharif, has commended traders for their vital role in supporting local markets and contributing to the country’s economic growth. Speaking yesterday during Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Wau, Governor Sharif praised the contributions of business communities, particularly members of the Sudanese, Somali, and Ethiopian communities, for their active involvement in trade and entrepreneurship across the state. The Governor noted that the presence and efforts of traders have strengthened local markets and boosted economic activity, describing their role as essential to sustaining livelihoods and promoting development. “I also wish to express our deep appreciation for the important role played by the Sudanese, Somali, Ethiopian, and all other communities working in our state. Your contributions as traders and entrepreneurs have a significant impact in supporting local markets and promoting economic growth in South Sudan,” he said. Let us continue to live together in mutual respect, understanding, and solidarity, as one people striving toward a future of peace and prosperity,” he said. He added that his government will ensure security and stability for all residents, providing a safe environment for businesses to thrive and communities to prosper.
