Exam Council nullifies results of over 90 candidates in 2025 P.8 exams over malpractice

The National Examination Council has cancelled the results of more than 90 pupils who sat for the 2025 Certificate of Primary Education examinations due to malpractice and impersonation. The announcement came after the Ministry of General Education and Instruction released the results of the end-of-primary education examinations. According to Dr. Athian Athian Bak, Secretary-General of the National Examinations Council, nine candidates submitted double scripts, 12 students sat the examination partially, and 72 candidates were found to have committed impersonation. Dr. Athian said the irregularities were the reason the results were cancelled. “The irregularities recorded in the examinations included nine candidates who submitted double scripts, and their results were cancelled. Twelve students sat the examination partially, while 72 candidates were involved in impersonation,” he said, speaking on Thursday during the release of the results. Dr. Athian further announced that a total of 81,431 pupils passed the exams, while 3,063 failed. Male candidates achieved a pass rate of 97.2%, while female candidates had a pass rate of 95.4%.
